Abbey Theatre
Ireland's National Theatre, comprising the Abbey and Peacock Theatres, was founded in 1904
by Lady Augusta Gregory, playwright J.M. Synge and poet William Butler Yeats. The artistic policy
centres on the promotion of new Irish writing, the revitalisation and presentation of plays from the
Irish repertoire, as well as classics of the European and world stages.
 Gaiety Theatre
The oldest Theatre in Dublin. Built in 1837 the theatre plays host
to a wide variety of theatrical productions including drama, musicals, comedy opera ballet and pantomime.
at the weekend the theatre transforms into a late night club Salsa Palace on Fridays featuring latin
beats and Soul Stage on Saturdays featurng world music and reggae.
Crypt Arts Centre
Presents the best new Irish Theatre featuring new Irish plays and
original productions of International Classics. The crypt presents a new show every two to three weeks.
Set in the elegant grounds of Dublin Castle
 The Sugar Club
New multimedia theatre situated at 8 Lower Leeson Street, Dublin 2.
It offers a wide range of entertainment seven nights a week. Situated in the old Irish Film Theatre
in the Bord Siucra building, the premises has been beautifully restored to maintain the essential
atmosphere of a theatre and updated with the very best in multimedia facilities. It is geared for the
over 25's.
Olympia Theatre
One of the oldest Theatres in Dublin. Generations of Dubliners have
been entertained and enthralled here by some of Ireland and Europes finest theatre companies and actors.
Today the Olympia not only hosts plays and theatre, but a wide range of events from concerts to comedy.

Located in the spectacular surroundings of Trinity College in the city centre.

The Civic Theatre
The Civic Theatre in Tallaght opened on March 23 1999. The venue comprises a 320 seat main
auditorium with flexible seating to accomodate performances in various configurations.The venue has a
studio space aptly named the loose end with 60-80 seats which will be home to smaller productions
workshops as well as childrens theatre. The building also boasts a 120 capacity bar/ restaurant facility.
Concerts

National Concert Hall
Ireland's most prestigious music venue. The magnifient
building was designed in the classical style for the Great Exhibition of 1865. It subsequently became
the centrepiece of the emerging University College Dublin before its inauguration as Ireland's
National concert Hall on the 9th September 1981. Weekly performances by the National
Symphony Orchestra of Ireland.
Opera Ireland
The largest producer of opera in Ireland . They have two seasons a year in Spring and Autumn in Dublin.
 Opera Theatre Company
Formed in 1986, Opera Theatre Company has become one of the most consistently challenging
and innovative companies in Ireland, touring to all parts of the island. Its English language repertoire
includes operas which are written for a chamber ensemble, or those to which an intimate approach brings
something new and exciting.
Comedy
The Laughter Lounge
The Laughter Lounge is a new comedy venue which runs live comedy shows from Thursday
-Sunday every week. The best of Irish and British Comedians perform here. The venue is a converted
cinema which also has a bar.
Cinema
The Parnell Centre
Leisure and entertainment centre located on Parnell Street in Dublins North City. The
centre houses a cinema, amusements, and eateries.
 Irish Film Centre
The Film Institute of Ireland presents a continuous programme of new releases,
retrospectives, festivals and special events in the Irish Film Centre Cinemas. In particular,
the programme concentrates on significant films which are unlikely to receive commercial distribution
in Ireland. It reflects the full range of world cinema, with particular commitments to European cinema.
Music, Pubs & Clubs
Taylors Three Rock
Located in Rathfarnham, this is an unforgettable Irish night banquet and show consisting of
traditional ballads, music and dance.
 Abbey Tavern, Howth
The World-Famous Abbey Tavern Singers and Musicians, offer entertainment in an
authentic Traditional Irish atmosphere. This is not a variety or cabaret show, but a
lively informal evening; reflecting Irelands wealth of music and song. A typical five
course Irish dinner, finishing with Irish coffee is served during the entertainment.
Brazen Head
The Brazen Head Pub is reputedly the oldest pub in Dublin. There are traditional music
session seven nights a week from 21.30 also on Sunday mornings from 12.30-14.30
Break for the Border
Break for the border is a successful combination of bar, Tex Mex restaurant and nightclub
laid out on three inter connecting floors with a Western Theme very much to the fore. Late drinking and
music are on offer every night of the week with live performances by rock and country bands each night
from Wednesday to Saturday

Chief O'Neill's Pub
Chief O'Neill's Hotel features live entertainment in their Bar over the weekends. The
talented musicians play a combination of Traditional Irish music and more contemporary music. The
highlight of the weekend is our Sunday afternoon session, which is live Traditional Irish Music,
plus a display of Traditional Irish Dancing performed live.

Noel V Ginnity, Irelands funniest man, the fine voice of Paul Hennessy and Catherine Coates. The music and
song of Ray Kennedy and the Celtic Sons. The energy of the May Crean Irish dancers and a three course
dinner followed by Irish Coffee.
Dublin Jazz Society
Is a voluntary, non-profit making organisation, dedicated to
the promotion of live mainstream jazz - featuring top international and Irish jazz musicians - in
Dublin.
Johnnie Fox's Pub
One of the most unique pubs in Dublin is definitely Johnnie Fox's Pub which is found in the
Dublin Mountains hence the name "The highest pub in Ireland". A trip to Dublin is not complete without
sampling some of their exquisite award winning seafood cuisine fresh from local shores. Their live

Screamadelica
SCREAMADELICA Going from strength to strength in recent months, The Scream Team proudly
celebrate two years in existence in February. SCREAMADELICA offers one of the most diverse musical
ranges in clubs in Dublin. Although essentially an alternative/indie club, special guest DJs end up
spinning everything from soul to hip-hop, metal to cheesy pop.
Sinnotts,
Sinnotts is located just off St. Stephens Green. A traditional style pub licensed since
1840's which will appeal to all ages. It is home fro an unrivalled collection of over 200 portraits
drawings photographs and biographies of famous Irish Writers of the last two centuries.
Soul Riot
SOUL RIOT Spring brings a fresh line up of groove drivers (see centre pages), courtesy of
Murfi and SOUL RIOT. Offering a style of music only touched upon by any other club-night in the capital,
this Wednesday get down is pure quality. The 45's room is soul grooves and funk classics with regular
guest appearances on stage.
Temple Bar Music Centre

The Odeon
The Odeon Bar and Grill opened in June 1998 in the entrance to the former Hartcourt Street
Railway Terminus. The Odeon now incorporates a magnificent Art Deco interior based on a concept of

The Network Club
